Material Selection Tips for Stainless Steel Mesh in Corrosive Environments

Stainless steel mesh is widely used in filtration, screening, protection and decorative applications due to its corrosion resistance, strength and clean surface. Common materials include 201, 304 and 316, each with different corrosion resistance and cost levels.

For general environments, 304 stainless steel mesh is commonly used. For chloride, acid, alkali or more complex media, higher grade materials may be considered according to actual conditions. Selection should consider unit price together with service life, maintenance frequency and replacement cost.
